About Me
- Hi! I’m Kathleen. I am a student, turned auditor, turned analyst, turned student. I started my professional journey back in 2008, when I graduated from the University of Southern California (FIGHT ON, TROJANS!) with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. I immediately began working at a big, fancy, corporate job as an auditor, and after a year knew it wasn't what I was meant to do. However, I wasn't ready to give up on accounting yet, and gave it another try. This time, I was an analyst at a big travel industry in my hometown. I spent two years there, loved my coworkers, loved my boss, loved the company, but still didn't love what I did. I knew I had more to give.
- After two years as an analyst, I decided to give my passion, teaching, a try. I enrolled in night classes to start my journey and quickly became a visiting teacher in a classroom, observing and interacting a few times a week, while still working full time as an analyst. As luck, and life, would have it, I was able to leave that job, move to San Diego and enroll in a full time teaching program doing what I learned I love! I have now received my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and am working towards a Single Subject Math Credential and Masters of Education. I currently teaching math at a San Diego elementary school to grades kindergarten through fifth, and am enjoying the challenge while growing as a teacher!
