It’s Teacher Appreciation Week and WOW do I feel appreciated! I spent this week exploring different classrooms, and even as a substitute in some! On Monday, I subbed for half a day and taught a math lesson on Data Analysis, all while being formally observed by my Site Supervisor. On Tuesday, I subbed for half of a day in a Kindergarten classroom, which was absolutely wonderful. On Wednesday, we did a sand art project and modeled our work after the artist Hokusai’s Wave.
As far as Teacher Appreciation Week festivities, just WOW! On Monday, each student wanted into the classroom with two flowers, one for me and one for my Master Teacher. At the end of the day, we both had beautiful blooming vases filled with so much love and caring. On Tuesday, we both were surprised with coffee and breakfast, another collaboration of all of the students and their parents. On Friday, both my Master Teacher and I were presented with gift baskets, complete with our favorite candies, lotions and hand written notes. This week was so overwhelming in such a positive way!
